Why settle for less?

CJ, of Sweet Harvest Farms, has been an artist since she can remember. Painting on anything that “doesn’t move," including old cupboard doors, chairs and even her father's old Army boots, made her offerings a bit eclectic. It would be sometime before people put the name “shabby chic” or “primitive” on this type of work.

Years later, opening her store in Destin, FL, she decided to offer a little bit of everything from Antiques to handmade primitive dolls. Included in this eclectic mix were Potpourri and Handmade Soap. Eclectic Folk Art, Antiques and her handmade Primitive Dolls has always been CJ's main focus but over the years her interest in healthy Bath and Body products slowly took center stage.

Always the perfectionist and wanting to give her customers only the highest quality possible, she found the soap and potpourri not up to her standards. CJ then set off on the quest to find out how to make her own soap and Potpourri and make it the best!

The truth about the way soap is made and sold was even more eye-opening! Many soaps that claim to be “homemade” are actually produced in huge warehouses. They are then shipped in large blocks which others re-melt, mix with scent and color, and then blend with synthetic Glycerin and call them "Glycerin Soaps” (Melt and Pour). True Homemade Soaps don’t need to add Glycerin at a later date-it’s already there! You can also almost “see through” Glycerin soaps while true homemade soaps are opaque and heavy. Other commercial products are "beauty bars" not soap and contain harsh chemicals and detergents to make it lather. Our cold-processed method of soap-making and combination of oils gives our soap a rich creamy lather that won't leave a film on your skin or tub/shower!

There are very few true soap makers left that stay true to the old fashion method of soap making used literally thousands of years ago. Excavations of ancient Babylon uncovered cylinders with inscriptions for making soap around 2800 B.C.E. Later records from ancient Egypt (c. 1500 B.C.E.) describe how animal and vegetable oils were combined with alkaline salts to make soap. CJ has taken this ancient recipe and added rich organic oils and pure Goats Milk ( in the Goat Milk line of soaps) straight from the farm(because of the natural vitamins and emollients it contains.)

Each of our 6 oz. bars will last 4-6 weeks in the shower! I can guarantee that once you have used a Sweet Harvest Farms luxurious bar of homemade soap you will notice the difference immediately and your skin will thank you for it!

As for our Potpourri, it will outlast anything on the market! Good thing for our customers but not so good for us! It lasts so long customers don't need to reorder for almost a year and the refresher oils last almost just as long!

Body Spritzers are a new item for Spring, as I have had such an overwhelming request for them. I will be adding those to my list of goodies and they will be scented to compliment the corresponding soap scents.
